Co-Chairs:

Sir Partha Dasgupta is the Frank Ramsey Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Cambridge, Fellow of St John's College, Visiting Professor at the New College of the Humanities, London, and a member of ICRE8’s Strategic Management Board. He served as President of EAERE, 2010-11.

Sir Partha has received countless honors and honorary doctorates for academic excellence and contributions to the field, including: named Knight Bachelor by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2002 for services to economics; co-recipient (with Karl-Göran Mäler) of the 2002 Volvo Environment Prize; co-recipient (with Geoffrey Heal) of AERE’s “Publication of Enduring Quality Award 2003” for their book, Economic Theory and Exhaustible Resources; recipient of the PEN/John Kenneth Galbraith Award, 2007; co-recipient (with Erik Maskin) of the Erik Kempe Award in Environmental and Resource Economics, 2007; recipient of the Zayed International Environment Prize, 2010; recipient of the European Lifetime Achievement Award from EAERE, 2014; recipient of the 2015 Blue Planet Prize for Environmental Research and the 2016 Tyler Prize.

Phoebe Koundouri is a Professor in Economic Theory and Econometrics at the School of Economics of Athens University of Economics and Business, Senior Research Fellow at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, London School of Economics, and Founder and Scientific Director of ICRE8.

She is Co-Chair, together with Andreas Papandreou, of the Greek chapter of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network. She is a highly cited academic author ranked in the top 1.5% of all female economists in the world, with 15 published books and monographs and over 250 articles in edited volumes and highly ranked academic journals. Since 1996, she has coordinated and/or participated in more than 50 research projects on natural resources management issues funded by the European Commission, the World Bank, OECD, EBRD, UN, NATO, WHO and others. She served as Vice President of EAERE (2014-15), Elected Board Member (2012-15) and Editor of the EAERE Newsletter (2012-15).

Yannis Ioannidis is the President & General Director of the "Athena" Research and Innovation Center, and a Professor of Informatics and Telecommunications at the University of Athens. His research interests include Database and information Systems, Personalization and Social Networks, Data Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Electronic Infrastructures, and several Application Areas (Life Science, Cultural Heritage, Biodiversity, Physical Sciences. He is the Greek delegate to and a member of the Executive Board of the European Strategy Forum on Research infrastructures (ESFRI).

Andreas Papandreou is an Associate Professor in the Economics Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has 26 years of academic experience in various Universities. His work spans the fields of environmental, institutional, political and welfare economics. Among his publications are Externality and Institutions (1998) published by OUP. He is the Director of the Political Economy of Sustainable Development Lab, and Research Associate of the International Center of Research on the Environment and the Economy (ICRE8).

Anastasios Xepapadeas is Professor of Economic Theory and Policy, and Dean of the School of Economic Sciences, at Athens University of Economics and Business. He is past president of EAERE and past Chairman of the Board of the Beijer Institute, and was editor of Environment and Development Economics for ten years. His main research interests include environmental policy; economics of climate change; spatiotemporal analysis; environment and growth; evolutionary approaches to policy design; and uncertainty and robust control.
