RELATED EVENTS
The EAERE Annual Conferences offer a unique opportunity for reaching out to a high number of people from our community. Institutions may be interested in organising events back-to-back to the Conference, in the same location, and may contact the LOC to explore this option. EAERE encourages the LOC to accept these requests when possible - which in some cases may also represent an opportunity to raise funds for the conference - provided they:
-
are judged by the PC to be of scientific value to our community,
-
guarantee a reasonable gender balance amongst speakers.
-
do not generate costs for the LOC and the conference,
-
are not in competition with the conference,
-
are self-managed.
Accepted events will be announced on the conference website as 'related events' and will be treated as EAERE supported events. Participants in related events need not be registered for EAERE unless, of course, they wish to attend the EAERE conference.
Organisers can apply for an EAERE quality endorsement for a related event in any topic of interest to environmental and resource economists. Endorsed events will be presented as events organised “with the support of EAERE”; the EAERE logo will appear in the event documentation. A page dedicated to the event will be added in the “Related events” section on the EAERE Annual Conference website. EAERE will circulate the announcements of supported activities through the EAERE informative channels (e-mailing lists, monthly Highlights, Website).
EAERE is committed to enhancing diversity in scientific events. We believe that it is possible and desirable to organise events that are both high quality and inclusive. As an action towards this general objective, EAERE gives its quality endorsement only to events that guarantee a reasonable gender balance amongst speakers. In case this requirement is not met, organisers are allowed to provide an explanation for that: EAERE reserves the right to evaluate the explanations received on a case by case basis. Organisers of EAERE related events are encouraged to promote full inclusivity in the organisation of the events.
