Madrid has one of the most extensive and affordable public transportation networks in Europe, making it easy to travel throughout the city and its metropolitan area. The integrated system includes commuter rail, metro, buses, and light rail, all operating with coordinated fares and frequent services. Cercanías Renfe: The commuter rail network provides fast connections between the city centre, Madrid-Barajas Airport (via a transfer), the main railway stations, and surrounding areas. It is the most convenient way to reach the UAM Cantoblanco Campus via Line C4 (station: Cantoblanco Universidad), which connects to major transport hubs such as Atocha, Sol, Nuevos Ministerios, and Chamartín. Metro de Madrid: One of the largest metro networks in Europe, with 12 lines and more than 300 stations, offering quick and efficient access to most parts of the city. Public Buses: Madrid's extensive bus network complements the metro, serving areas not directly connected by rail. Daytime bus services generally operate from around 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., while night buses (búhos) operate after midnight on many routes.

Taxis and ride-hailing services: Official taxis, together with Uber, Cabify, and Bolt, are widely available across the city and provide a convenient option for direct journeys. Taxis can be hailed on the street, found at designated taxi ranks, or booked through mobile applications.

Walking and cycling: Many of Madrid's central neighbourhoods are highly walkable. Visitors can also use BiciMAD, the city's public electric bike-sharing system, to explore the city sustainably.
